Kelly Woodfine

Study Abroad Advisor I

Kelly joined the Study Abroad Programs Office in January 2017 and works primarily with faculty-led programs. Kelly is a “Double Gator”, having received both an M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics and a B.A. in International Studies (with a concentration on Europe), Linguistics, and Spanish from the University of Florida. During her time at UF, she worked as a Spanish instructor, teaching beginning-level classes to undergraduate students. Kelly was also heavily involved in research in the field of Hispanic Linguistics, working as both an undergraduate and graduate research assistant, while simultaneously pursuing her own research agenda. Kelly’s other experiences in higher education include working as a Resident Assistant, interning at UF’s Peace Corps recruitment office, and being a member of her residence area government. Kelly completed a faculty-led summer study abroad program in Seville, Spain. She also spent a summer in Italy working as an English Summer Camp instructor, a summer interning with the State Department at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain, and was part of an interdisciplinary workshop group examining affordable/sustainable housing in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. As a dual UK/US citizen, Kelly travels frequently to the UK and other countries in Europe for leisure, and has also visited Canada, Mexico, and various Caribbean countries. She loves to travel and would essentially like to visit as many places as possible, though her current “ideal trip” would be an extensive road trip from Nairobi, Kenya, to Cape Town, South Africa.
