What are Reciprocal Exchange Programs?
The Texas A&M University Reciprocal Exchange Programs provide TAMU students the opportunity to study and live at an overseas university for a year or semester. Currently Texas A&M has University-Wide exchange programs with universities in England, Germany, Mexico, Switzerland, and Japan. There are also a multitude of Departmental Exchanges. These programs are best suited for junior level students and provide the opportunity to become completely immersed in the local culture, as you live and study with native students.
Cara in Paris, France
My experience in Switzerland for a year was an amazing experience. It helped me to grow in so many ways. It broadened my knowledge and understanding of other cultures and opened my eyes to a whole new world. I will always be grateful for the opportunity that I had to study abroad.

Cara Vaughan
A&M Reciprocal Exchange Student in Switzerland (1999)
You enroll and are "mainstreamed" in the academic setting of the host university, attending classes and rubbing shoulders with the domestic students. As such, your proficiency in the native language is essential in order to compete and excel in the native academic setting.

This unique exchange will offer a life changing experience that will enhance your growth academically, professionally, and culturally.

For more information on reciprocal exchanges, contact Orie Varner.
