    Courses available:
    Korean Language, Korean Cultural Heritage, Social & Cultural History of Korea, Korean/American Relations, Comparative Studies of Asian Culture, Korean Government & Politics, Korean Business & Economics, Korean Society, Understanding Korean Education, Comparative Family Systems, Korean Cultural Experience, EFL/ESL Classes. (Classes will be opened with a minimum of 10 students. Not all classes will be open every semester.)
    Cultural Internship:
    Intern for 15 hours a week as a "Cultural and Language Ambassador" through group meetings, a language & cultural exchange program, and by living side by side with Korean students in specially designated dorms.

Application: 

  • Drop off a signed copy of the online Outgoing Reciprocal Exchange application and supporting documents to the Study Abroad Programs Office.
  • March 1 deadline for fall semester and academic year exchanges.
  • September 15 deadline for spring semester exchanges.
  • Can be of sophomore classification at the time of application.

Cost: 
    The cost varies from program to program. Keep in mind that because you are enrolled at A&M, your tuition and fees will be paid at A&M just as if you were taking classes on campus.
    While at Soonchynhyang U, a weekly stipend is provided to cover living expenses; airfare is reimbursed up to US$800 and a full waiver for dorm room is part of the package.

As soon as you decide to participate in a study abroad program, you will want to look into the funding available. Scholarships designated specifically for study abroad include: The Study Abroad Fellowship and the International Education Fee Scholarship. Also, two Burton Fellowships are awarded each year to INTS majors.
Eligibility:

  • All majors welcome
  • Must be a TAMU student for at least one semester prior to application
  • Must attend TAMU for at least one full semester after the exchange
  • Must have a 3.0 GPR
  • Must have English language proficiency (written and oral).
  • Junior Classification by beginning of exchange
  • Faculty references required
