About Orie Varner:
Orie enjoys helping students with integrating international education experiences into their degree plan and with financial planning to make study abroad dreams a reality.

Orie earned a Master of Public Service and Administration from the Bush School of Government and Public Service.  Prior to attending the Bush School, Orie received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and was a fellow with the Institute for International Public Policy.

Orie joined the Study Abroad Programs Office at Texas A&M in October of 2006.  Orie’s areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• General walk-in advising,
• Outgoing reciprocal exchanges,
• Faculty led programs, and
• Serving as the Texas A&M study abroad advisor for the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship and the Freeman-ASIA Award

During her undergraduate studies, Orie studied abroad in Granada, Spain for a semester.  During her Master’s program, Orie interned abroad with UNICEF in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic through the L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness.

Additionally, Orie has visited China, Ecuador, England, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Peru, and Portugal.
