Important Deadlines

Faculty-Led Program

  • Each program may have unique deadlines for application. Please check on the individual program pages for any specific deadlines that may apply.

Reciprocal Educational Exchange Programs (REEP)

  • 1 March for fall semester and year-long exchanges
  • 15 September for spring semester exchanges

Independent Study Abroad and Other Non-TAMU Programs

  • For students receiving a transcript from an accredited institution:

  • If you wish to receive transfer credit for any study abroad course(s) that you are taking, you will need to fill out the Texas A&M Study Abroad Independent Study for Credit Form located in the Study Abroad application.

    To access this form, login with your NetID and password and click on “Begin Program Application” and select “Independent” as the program type to access the Independent Study for Credit Form. Complete the form as instructed and contact the Study Abroad Office if you have any questions about how to complete this form.

    Completing this form is very important because there is no guarantee that the coursework will be accepted unless you complete this form in advance of leaving for your program abroad. This form must be turned in before you depart abroad, however this completed form MUST be turned in by the Int’l Education Fee Scholarship deadline to qualify for this scholarship.
  • For students doing an internship, research, or volunteer experience abroad:

  • In order to provide Texas A&M University with your emergency contact information and confirmation of your participation in a program abroad, you must complete the emergency contact information in the study abroad online application system.

    To access this application, login with your NetID and password and click on “Begin Program Application” and select from the drop-down list of the “Other” program type listing the program title that best matches your experience. (i.e. “Research Abroad”, if you are doing an independent project while abroad).
    Complete the online application as instructed and you will be prompted to download, print and complete the Confirmation of Research/Volunteer/Experience Outside the U.S. form. This form must be turned in before you depart abroad, however this completed form MUST be turned in by the Int’l Education Fee Scholarship deadline to qualify for this scholarship.
  • Program application deadlines vary from program to program. Please check with the program provider or host university to which you are applying about when applications are due.

Study Abroad Scholarship Timeline

These dates apply only to the SAF and IEFS-Undergraduate scholarships.  For the IEFS-Graduate scholarships, visit the International Student Services web site for deadlines.
