The Study Abroad Programs Office is dedicated to making a wide range of international study opportunities available to students of Texas A&M, coordinated both in the colleges and centrally through our office.  Our programs assist in equipping students with international experiences, understanding the global market, and working successfully with people from cultural backgrounds that differ from their own.  At Texas A&M, we seek to provide a variety of international education opportunities that will ensure students are competitive upon graduation. 

Why Study Abroad?

Getting an education is more than getting a degree. It is understanding and contributing to your world. To succeed in this interdependent world, it is critical that students gain an informed perspective about it. Few things can provide that perspective like a study abroad experience. Study abroad offers you the chance to live in and come to know another culture rather than just read about or visit it. In addition, study abroad provides you with the chance to understand, evaluate, and appreciate your own culture and values.

In this new era, the working environment is more globalized than ever. As a consequence, the more international experience you have the more competitive you will be on the market. In a survey conducted by MARS, one of the major findings was that graduating students who had an international experience are provided with more job offers and higher starting salaries than those without international experience.
