Christina Causey
History
Christina
Causey is a junior History major
with an Economics minor from the
thriving metropolis of Beeville,
Texas. Hailing from South Texas
gives her a rich appreciation for
other cultures and helped her
achieve an intermediate level of
Spanish. Her interest in the
international realm was first
sparked by a trip to London during
junior high, and she has since
fostered that interest by trips to
France, Italy, Germany, Scotland,
and Costa Rica, as well as several
more trips to London to visit her
sister.
While at Texas
A&M, Christina has developed her
leadership skills in a variety of
organizations. Some of her
achievements include serving as
Executive Vice President of Honors
Student Council, Vice President of
Longhouse (Liberal Arts Honors
organization), and Executive
Director of Assessment & Finance in
the Memorial Student Center.
Christina has also represented the
University’s Honors Program with a
presentation at national and
regional honors conferences in
Philadelphia, Oklahoma City, and
Denver, and she has fostered her
dedication to service through
volunteer activities at a local
animal shelter and by participating
in the Big Brother Big Sister
program.
Honors
Christina has received include being
selected as a National Merit Scholar
and President’s Endowed Scholar,
becoming a member of the National
Society for Collegiate Scholars and
Phi Eta Sigma, and somehow
maintaining a 4.0 GPR. She was also
chosen to participate in the Champe
Fitzhugh, Jr. International Honors
Leadership Seminar in Castigilion
Fiorentino, Italy, in the summer of
2005.
Upon
graduation, Christina intends to
continue her education in law
school, hopefully launching her
entry into the field of
international law, unless her plans
change. Currently, her interests
have led her to the international
trade sector, so that could very
well end up being her specialization
in that field.
Through the Academy for Future
International Leaders, Christina
hopes to vastly improve her
understanding of the nuances of
global issues and to increase her
ability to intelligently speak
about, and form opinions of,
international events and concerns.
She also anticipates her
interactions with the participants
and speakers helping her to develop
her international interests, future
aspirations, and professional
skills. |
