Study Abroad Advisor I
Xiaoshuang joined the Study Abroad Programs Office in 2016 and works primarily with faculty-led programs. She comes from Xinjiang, a far northwest province in China. She came to the US for the first time in 2013 on an international internship opportunity. Xiaoshuang completed her Bachelor’s studies in English at the East China Normal University in Shanghai and received a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Oregon. Her own study abroad experience motivated her to pursue a career in the study abroad field. Before joining Texas A&M University, Xiaoshuang has taught Chinese to elementary school students and college students. She enjoys the higher education setting and loves working with students. Having been to most of the states on the west side of the country, Xiaoshuang plans to explore the southern states and the East coast. She finds the cultural dynamics in this country fascinating.
