Program Coordinator

Primary Roles:
  • Manage transfer credit programs (e.g., through a third-party program provider or another accredited institution)
  • Advise for assigned faculty-led programs
  • Serve as the office liaison for the Department of Disability Services
  • Serve on the university-wide ADA Compliance Committee
  • Chair the departmental Diversity Team  
Irene joined the Study Abroad Programs Office in 2007. A native of Ohio, Irene received a M.A. in College Student Personnel, B.A. in German and a B.S. in Print Journalism from Bowling Green State University. During her undergraduate studies, she studied abroad in Salzburg, Austria for an academic year. During her graduate studies, she participated in research tours to United Kingdom and New Zealand. Other countries that she had the opportunity to visit include Canada, Cuba, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland.
Irene is also involved in community initiatives for diversity and inclusion, as she desires to see all Aggies have transformational, international experiences. Furthermore, she is the 2017 recipient of the Diversity Abroad Network Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion in International Education Award (individual category) and the Texas A&M Accountability, Climate, and Equity Award (Partners in Learning Award of Excellence category).
